Windows 2008, Hyper-V, Quick Migration, Equallogic.

We are testing an iSCSI SAN, Hyper-V, Exchange 2007, Windows 2008 ... to set up new infraestructures in my company. (CARTV http://www.cartv.es/).
We have tested Windows 2008 with Hyper-V, Quick Migration in a Equallogic PS iSCSI SAN.
Our LAB:
2 PC Desktops HP 5800 (We dont have 2 servers for our LAB ;-( . Both servers are a Windows 2008 clusters. SW2KLAB01 (node 1), sW2K8LAB02 (node 2). Both with Hyper-V role. Both nodes have 2 LUNs from iSCSI Equallogic 10G and 500G.
1 DC. Domain controler SW2K8LABDC01. It is a VM in node 1.
1 Windows 2008 like a NPS role. It is a VM in node 1 too. (SW2K8LAB03)

First test: I would like to probe the new Windows 2008 cluster, with Q disk (quorum) and the share resource (without Q disk). Both tests were well.

Second Test: Quick Migration. I clustered the VM service in node 1 and node2.
I moved SW2K8LAB03 from one node to another.
I only lost 6 pings.
VMware loses 2 ping with V-motion?
How many will Microsoft lose with Live Migration in Windows 2008 R2 ?

Thanks to RAXON and Dell (David Pascual) for the Equallogic PS iSCSI SAN and your help.

PS: Performance test with 2 desktops as a Windows 2008 servers. My NICs dont have TOE, so probably I will improve my performance with 2 new servers.
PSS: The pictures are in Spanish. My lab is Spanish Servers. (and my English is not good ;-) ).

PSSS: Any questions? I will answer by email or in a comment in this blog ;-).

Do you have this error?











You need to install XP SP3 or RDP 6.1 ( KB952230 ).
And you need to delete the Regedit these entries:

TS Gateway

Windows 2008 y TS Gateway.

Pues hay que reconocer que funciona bien.

Tenemos un TSG en la DMZ, abrimos el puerto 80, redirigimos todo el trafico de quien queremos para dentro.

Abriendo solo el 80 podemos hacer RDP.



Breve explicación:

Instalación TSG en DMZ.

Creación de un certificado (en este caso local) es para pocos usuarios.

Instalación de certificado en clientes.

Configuración de RDP 6.1 para atacar al TSG publicado en DMZ.

Configurar permisos a máquinas tanto en DMZ como en TSG.



Cuesta un poco pero realmente está muy bien. Hay que reconocerlo

Virtualización con Hyper-V y Trunk Cisco

Si tenemos 4 NICS en un servidor podemos poner varias máquinas y tenemos tarjetas de red suficientes. Y si no las tenemos?

La configuración es:

a) Configuración Hyper-V para que la máquina física (host) tenga acceso a la VLAN.




















b) Configuración de una de las máquinas virtuales en otra VLAN.



















c) Configuración de la electrónica de red, en este caso Cisco.









Mas datos, y especificaciones en concreto en comentarios si alquien quiere.

En configuraciones de red si tienes 4 NIC en un servidor como los SUN, pueo poner dirferentes máquinas por cada una de las tarjetas.




Y si no tengo tantas NICs?










La configuración es la siguiente:
Configuración de Hyper-V a nivel de máquina. Es decir, hay que poner la VLAN asignada a la NIC física e ese servidor para que la máquina física tenga acceso a la red.

Hace años descrubrí Maxthon. El mejor navegador de internet (antes tenía Avant Browser). Google invirtió 1 millon de dolares en este navegador y ahora saca Chrome?.
Si por lo menos fuera mejor.
Donde están los gestos de ratón, los complementos, las teclas rápidas, los grupos...
