Remote Desktop Services Default Connection. RDS autologin

Hi

Do you use RDS in R2 and you like single sing on in the main webpage?

image

This is the IIS default configuration. (you need to write down the AD user again.

image

You need to change the IIS options for these options:

NOTE:

Some people says to change:

open up the Web.config file in \windows\web\rdweb\pages and find the Windows Authentication comments and follow the instructions.  We require some sort of credentials though to work, either through the form or through Windows Auth.

But I doesn’t work

It is better to use the IIS manager.

Windows 2008 R2 RDS and SSO. Windows XP SP 3 and Windows 7

hi

I would like to enter in the web-app in a W 2008 R2 with RDS with SSO (single sing on)

It is annoying for the users to enter the credentials twice.

My clients are WXP with SP3

So.

a) I did a auto-self certificate in the IIS of RDS server

image

b) I configured my RemoteApp Manager settings for Certificates.

image

b) I change de CredSSP options in the client

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/951608/en-us

(only the first part of this KB)

c) I exported the RDS server certificate

(copy to File…)

image

d) I installed this certificate In the windows XP SP3 client

And that is. The user runs the application with SSO

NOTE: that tip doesn’t work with Windows 7

FOR WINDOWS 7

Change the gpo (in domain) or gpedit.msc (locally)

You need to change the “Allow Delegating Default Credentials” and add the RDS server.

Hi

Do you have this sing when you enter in a RDS application?

Change de Remote Manager options.

a) First: Do in the IIS an auto selft-certification

b) Add these lines in this tab:

The jpg. file is an example.

Write down:

enablecredsspsupport:i:0
authentication level:i:0

default:

The operating system is not presently configured to run this application. APP-V error with Visio 2010, Project 2010, Office 2010.

Hi

Do you have this error with App-V 4.6 and Visio 210, Project 2010 or Office 2010?

image

Spanish error

image

English error

My lab was: VM with windows XP sequencer, Host Windowx XP machine

I upgrade both to last patch (.NET 4. and so on)

I always got the error.

I change the VM WXP sequencer for a host (real machine).

The machine is fresh (I installed WXP and APP-V 4.6 sequencer again)

NOW, the APP-V applications run well.

So,

Follow the links to sequencing Office 2010, Project 2010 and Visio 2010 in a new real machine.

Windows 7 boot and Ghost and so on

hi

Do you want a windows 7 dvd with tools to solve problems with some tools?

(ghost, …)

you can set up a Windows 7 USB/DVD with the microsoft tool

http://santospardos.blogspot.com/2011/01/windows-7-usbdvd-download-tool-doesnt.html

With this USB, you can copy the tools inside.

(copy the Ghost32.exe file, or whatever file inside the tool)

You can start the machine with the USB tool

When you have the Windows 7 start screen

Try SHIFT + F10 to open a CLI

and you can execute any tool from c:, d:, e: g:, h: and so on drive.

NOTE: Use the x86 DVD to do everything. The ghost tool and so on only runs in x86 software.

NOTE 2: You can use de System REcovery tool to open the cli command as well

Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool doesn’t boot the machine.

Hi

Yes, the Windows 7 UsB/DVD download tool only copies the files

image

You need to set up the USB to boot:

So, you need to follow these steps first:

DISKPART

LIST DISK

SELECT DISK 1 (Disk 1 is the USB)

CLEAN

CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY

SELECT PARTITION 1

ACTIVE

FORMAT FS=NTFS

(Format process may take few seconds)

ASSIGN

EXIT

and now

You can run the Windows 7 USB/dVD tool, and the USB boot well

BE CAREFULL: You need a 4G USB stick or more
